This original oil painting is about the first signs of spring. The world is still quiet and almost colorless, but the first bright colors are starting to appear. I wanted to show this contrast and the feeling of nature slowly waking up. The first colors appear among soft and calm tones, and little by little, everything around them begins to change. The flowers seem to slowly appear from the background. Some shapes are light and transparent and almost disappear into the space, while others are bright and full of color. For me, this painting is about the beginning of spring, when nature is not fully awake yet, but you can already feel that everything is changing. I used drips, transparent layers, dry marks, and loose brushstrokes on purpose. In some parts, you can still see the texture of the canvas. In other parts, the oil paint is thicker and has more texture. I wanted the painting to stay light and almost look like watercolor. Early spring often feels like this to me. Everything is still soft and a little unclear, as if the colors are mixing together. But the first flowers are already waking up, and the world around them slowly starts to change.
Where It Looks Best This painting can add a bright color accent to a light and neutral interior, but it can also work well in a dark or loft-style space.
